Lone Cedar Country Club first opened for play in 1955.
Nestled on the northern shores of Lake Leon, the Lone Cedar Golf Course is enhanced by its views of the lake, its naturally wooded terrain, and the beauty of the rolling central Texas hill country. The original 1955 nine hole course was revitalized and an additional nine holes were added. The goal of course designers Morris Greenhaw and John Gill was to make it extra challenging with the addition of more water hazards and sand traps. The now full 18-hole course, was opened in 2007.
Holes 3-9 are tough due to narrow fairways surrounded by trees, tough dog legs, water hazzards, and tee box locations. The back nine follows the lake and is much more open. It offers some good birdie opportunities to repair your score from the front nine.
